Who We Are
Bancroft Auto Sales is a used car dealership built around a simple idea: buying, selling or trading a vehicle should be clear and respectful. We are not a giant auto mall. We are a local dealership on El Cajon Boulevard, serving shoppers from City Heights, North Park, College Area, La Mesa, Lemon Grove and communities throughout San Diego County who want a practical, well-chosen used vehicle and a straightforward process.
Our business covers three related services. We sell pre-owned vehicles from our lot and online inventory. We buy used vehicles, including cars from people who are not buying from us. And we accept trade-ins, so you can apply the value of your current car toward your next one. Because we handle all three, you can take care of your whole transaction in one place.
What Makes Our Dealership Different
A Focus on Quality Used Imports
Our specialty is quality used imports, alongside other popular makes. Our selection has included vehicles from brands such as BMW as well as domestic favorites such as Ford. Import models are popular with San Diego drivers for their fuel efficiency, comfort and features, and we enjoy helping customers compare options within their budget. Because inventory changes often, we encourage you to check our current inventory regularly or use the Car Finder to tell us what you are looking for.
Financing Help Under One Roof
Our finance department works to find financing solutions that fit your needs and save you money where possible. You can begin with the secure online credit application before your visit, which helps speed things up once you arrive. Loan approval, interest rates and terms are set by lenders and depend on each application, and we are happy to walk you through the options and the paperwork.
Trade-Ins and Cash Offers
Trade-ins are always welcome, and we will also buy your used vehicle for cash. The easiest way to start is the trade value form, where you can share your vehicle details. We handle the paperwork involved, which removes one of the biggest hassles of selling a car on your own.
Registration Handled for You
Our vehicles are delivered fully registered with the requirements completed. That means less time dealing with forms and more time driving the car you chose.
Our Approach to Customer Service
We know many people feel pressure at car dealerships. We try to remove that feeling by being transparent and patient. You are welcome to take your time, ask questions about a vehicle’s condition and history, take a test drive and review every document before signing. Used vehicles sold by dealers come with a Buyers Guide that explains whether the vehicle is sold with a warranty or as is, and we are glad to go over it with you. If a vehicle is not the right fit, we would rather help you find a better option than push a sale that does not work for you.
We also respect your time. Many customers start their search online, shortlist vehicles, submit a credit application or trade-in request, and then visit to see and drive the car. This approach keeps your visit focused and efficient.
